MICROCHIPPING

Top-Quality Care for Your Furry Friends

Why Microchip?

Microchipping is mandatory for all dogs, with the exception of working farm dogs. However it is not mandatory for cats, although microchipping your cat gives them the best chance of being identified and returned to you if they are lost or stolen.

A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and they are safe, easy to implant and effective. Unlike collars and ID tags, microchips do not come off and they do not put your cat at risk of injury.

Vet Nurse Direct can insert microchips and register them on the NZ Companion Animal Register database in the comfort of your home.

Inserting a microchip is a quick procedure and often goes un-noticed by the pet receiving it, especially when there is yummy treats involved.
